About

Dr. Victor Ukorebi

Dr. Victor B. Ukorebi is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Build a-School Initiative in Africa (BASIA). Professionally, he works as the Area Temple Facilities Manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the Africa Area. He has previously worked for the same organization as a Regional Operations and Maintenance Manager for the Nigeria Region and a Facilities Manager and Service Center Coordinator for The Church in Nigeria. 


Dr. Ukorebi received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the renowned Brigham Young University-Idaho in the USA. He proceeded to California State University, Stanislaus, and Aspen University in Colorado, USA where he obtained his Master of Business Administration and Management with emphasis in Project Management. He graduated with distinction with his Doctor of Business Administration and Management from the prestigious Walden University in Minneapolis, USA. He has authored and co-authored many academic papers, including why Fast Food Businesses are failing in less than five years in Nigeria.

Dr. Ukorebi has worked with The United Nations in New York under the Late Kofi Annan leadership. He was a Property Pre-Marketing and Maintenance Manager for the Prudential California Realty in California, USA. Prior to that he worked as a Project Analysts for JES Consulting Engineering in Sacramento area, California where he coordinated various projects for several cities in California.


He has partnered with many NGOs to alleviate challenges facing the school system in Africa including Advanced Education in Africa Incorporation, School Rising Organization, LDS Charities, etc.


Ecclesiastically, he serves as a Bishop of his Ward. He has served in other numerous positions in the Church including counsellor in the Stake Presidency, member of a Stake High Council, Counsellor in the Bishopric, Elder’s Quorum President, Ward Mission Leader, Counsellor in the Branch Presidency, Ward Executive Secretary, District Mission President, and a full-time missionary service in Nigeria Enugu Mission.

Dr. Ukorebi was born in Abeokuta to Etubom Bassey Etim Ukorebi and Grace Etim Ukorebi. He married his college sweetheart, Katie Carr in 2006, and they are the parents of 5 children.
